Within Tenby itself is Tenby Golf Club offering a superb 18 hole links course and known to be the oldest golf course in Wales (dating back to around 1888).
The views are spectacular over to Caldey Island and visitors are very welcome throughout the year. They have a fine practise range adjacent to the first tee, so if you wish to hit a few warm up balls and electric buggies are also available (pre booking advised). After a round of golf, you can relax in the friendly comfortable clubhouse, with food, drink, snooker and a fullSky Sports TV facilities to enjoy on a large 55″ LCD screen in the bar area. Just outside of Tenby in Penally (a mile or two away) you will find the family owned Trefloyne Golf Course which is a long and challenging parkland course set in mixed woods constructed in 1992. Visitors are made to feel welcome and you can treat yourself to lunch at the Terrace Restaurant after a long round!
A couple of miles outside of Tenby in St Florence you will find Heatherton Golf Course which is one of only a handful of 18 hole pitch and putt golf courses which challenges golf players of all abilities all year round. It is a challenging par 63golf course set in 18 acreswith drives averaging 125yards and the extra challenge of 15 sand traps and two lakes.Heatherton‚Äôs course gives enjoyment for all, whether you are a beginner or seasoned golfer.
South Pembrokeshire Golf Club is a little further away in Pembroke Dock (11 miles from Tenby) and offers an challenging, fairly tough 18 hole course with beautiful views of the Cleddau Waterway. Visitors are warmly welcomed and there is a fully licenced bar and restaurant as well as changing rooms.
Lystep (around 5 miles from Tenby) is the home of the Headland Golf Course at Celtic Haven – a holiday resort with great facilities where day passes are only ¬£10.
Finally, why not visit Heron’s Brook Golf Course situated in the Heron’s Brook Golf and Fishing Retreat – somewhere to “get away from it all”! This is an 18 hole short golf course with drives averaging around 100 yards with total yardage of 3040. It has several short tricky holes with bunkers and water features and some longer drives like the 18th which is 400 yards.
