Ironman Wales 2014 in Tenby

Ironman Wales 2014 takes place again in Tenby on September 14th and has been described as one of the toughest in the world. Gordon Ramsay is taking place this year having spent many happy holidays in Tenby as a child.

Located in the bottom corner of Wales stunning southwest coast, Pembrokeshire is known for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park which features amazing sandy beaches and a beautiful picturesque coastline.

The Ironman Wales race will start with a 2.4m swim on the North Beach in the village of Tenby. Athletes will then take on a 112m cycle through the scenic countryside of Pembrokeshire passing through villages and passing famous landmarks as well as some very steep hills! They will then complete a marathon finishing in the lovely centre of Tenby with lots of supporters there to welcome them in.

Did you know that when the Wales Coast Path opens in May 2012 it will be the only continuous trail on the planet to run the full length of a country's coast!
